Join our client AGL’s dynamic team as a Staff Engineer for an initial six-month contract, with potential for extension, in a hybrid working environment based in Melbourne CBD. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering cutting-edge digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and Design: Engage in coding, testing, deployment scripting, and configuration across various domains.
  • Architectural Excellence: Create components supporting architectural test patterns and translate product owner expectations into fully developed functionalities.
  • Quality Assurance: Produce high-quality unit, integration, and automated UI/API tests.
  • Collaborate: Work within an agile team, contributing to system analysis, solution design, and feasibility activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with QA, BA, and UX specialists to ensure consistent implementation and quality delivery.
Continuous Improvement
  • Innovate: Proactively identify and suggest improvements to our solutions.
  • Reuse: Utilize existing components where possible to enhance efficiency.
Leadership
  • Mentor: Guide and foster growth within your team.
  • Participate: Actively engage in relevant forums and collaborate with business stakeholders and technical leaders.
  • Champion: Advocate for process improvements from both technology and people perspectives.
Required Experience
  • Industry Expertise: Proven industry experience and experience in leadership roles or similar capacities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with our technology stack (Angular, APIs, .NET, React) is required to be successful.
Team Skills
  • Agile Experience: Proven experience working in agile teams, preferably within the SAFe framework.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead meetings, mentor team members, and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Communication: Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.
  • Development Practices: Solid understanding of test-driven development, continuous integration, and high-quality solution building.
