Site Improvement Specialist

We are currently working with a leading mining company who is looking to engage a Site Improvement Specialist
to join their team for a 6-month contract (with potential extension). This role will be based in Perth. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the implementation of the client’s Operating System and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across the site. By effectively collaborating with departments and workstreams, you will play a key role in enhancing operational performance and ensuring the improvement engine operates efficiently at all levels.

Responsibilities:
- Drive and enable a healthy, high-performing improvement engine across all operational levels, focusing coaching efforts from Frontline to Superintendent level.
- Support site leaders in identifying, prioritising, problem-solving, and implementing frontline improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the operation system’s capability, supporting local training efforts to ensure sustainability.
- Enhance the operational site team’s ability to solve problems and continually improve safety and work processes.
- Provide guidance and assistance to operational teams in accessing, using, and managing key tools such as CoreWork, BrightSpot, MyBOS, SW Field App, SW Builder App, WAVE, and KaiNexus.
- Engage and manage a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to drive successful improvement initiatives.
- Lead the identification, implementation, and evaluation of continuous improvement activities aimed at improving safety, effectiveness, and efficiency across the site.
- Facilitate presentations and workshops, engaging the wider organisation in improvement activities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Prior Experience: You bring previous experience as a leader or technical professional, with a strong track record in driving operational improvement.
- Industry Exposure: While experience in mining, maintenance, or processing is highly desirable, we also welcome candidates from other industries with a strong operational system based on lean principles (e.g., manufacturing, health, finance, logistics, etc.).
- Continuous Improvement Expertise: You possess a solid understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change.
- Leadership & Coaching: You have the ability to establish credibility as a trusted advisor, backed by strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Collaboration & Influence: Comfortable in a matrix environment, you excel in navigating ambiguity and complexity, delivering outcomes through collaboration, engagement, and effective influence.
