Senior Solicitor

Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for two Senior Solicitors to join a local Council in South Western Sydney. These are full time, fixed term roles until June 2027.
As part of a client focused, skilled, and committed legal team, you will work to ensure a high-quality legal service is provided to enable the achievement of Council’s strategic and operational objectives.


These roles will be responsible for:

• Providing legal advice on contracts, procurement, property, and general legal matters
• Ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and contract law
• Work closely with internal teams and external legal providers
• Assist in delivering projects that enhance the local community
• Ensuring the effective and efficient use of Council resources and monitoring legal spend on matters

• 5+ years of senior legal experience, including 2-3 years in contracts, procurement, and property law
• Strong knowledge of local or state government legal frameworks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running
• Demonstrated ability in reviewing, preparing, and negotiating a variety of documentation relating to the acquisition/disposal, management, leasing, licensing, and development of property

• Competitive salary: $117k – $128k + super (negotiable)
