We are currently recruiting a Project Manager (Capital Works) for our client, a NSW Government agency based in Sydney CBD. This is an initial contract for 12 months with possibility of extension. The pay rate on offer is $700 per day + super and there is flexibility to WFH 2 days a week from home.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of capital works construction projects which could either be small fit-out projects (up to $600k) or larger projects up to $5m which fall under the NSW State Heritage Register.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee and manage all phases of project planning, development, and execution across various projects. This includes defining scope, designing project plans, coordinating resources, handling tendering processes, administering GC21 and MW21 contracts, managing budgets, fulfilling reporting obligations, and supporting project activities.
- Ensure project objectives are met on schedule, within budget, to quality standards, and in accordance with the agreed-upon scope, following established project management methodologies.
- Manage and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency
management and quality measures,
Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in Project Management and delivery of capital works construction projects
- Experience of NSW Government projects using MW21 or GC21, either for the client or for a consultancy.
- Experience of Construct Only contracts
- Strong Stakeholder engagement skills
- Complex issue management skills, proficient professional writing skills, accuracy in producing monthly reporting and use of technology
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of Heritage Projects
