Government department tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia. Currently seeking a number of APS6 Disability Case Managers to join their busy team for a 6-month temporary assignment with potential for further extension.
About the role
As a Disability Case Manager, you will support the experience of current and prospective clients by resolving applications for review in a timely and consistent manner. In addition, your key duties are as follow:
- Undertake end to end case management activities, subject to appropriate line manager input and oversight.
- Resolve matters through case management of AAT applications
- Obtain necessary information and advice to effectively resolve AAT matters.
- Apply alternate dispute resolution methods and advocacy skills to resolving applications/reviews, in keeping with the model litigant principles.
- Attend Case Conferences, Conciliations and Hearings conducted by the AAT.
- Prepare documents detailing resolution options and outcomes at Case Management meetings.
- Maintain electronic record keeping, including evidence supporting decision-making processes and justifying conclusions reached during the case management process.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Previous experience in a Case Management role, ideally within disability sector
- Background in Individual Case Management of matters involving risk and vulnerable participants.
- Experienced in interpreting information and legislation to reach an agreed resolution
- Strong decision making skills and the ability to justify decision based on evidence
- Knowledge of the NDIS and supports for people with disability
- Ability to work in a high paced team, managing multiple tasks at hand.
- High attention to detail and good administrative skills.
- Effective planning, scheduling, prioritisation, and time management skills
Benefits:
- 6-month temporary assignment with potential to extend
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
- $60.26 per hour + super
