Diesel/Plant Mechanic

Position Discription:
Utilising your skills as a Diesel or Plant Mechanic youll perform daily fleet and plant maintenance and repair requirements as directed by the Team Leader Mechanic. This position is on a full-time basis at the Burwood workshop from the hours of Mon-Fri 6:30AM - 3:30PM with a 9-day fortnight roster (Day off every 2nd week). 

Key Responsibilities:
-Perform servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer's schedules for plant and equipment, including Waste Collection, Street Cleaning, Parks Maintenance, Road Maintenance equipment, Light Commercial, and Passenger Vehicles.
-Conduct repairs and diagnostic work on diesel and petrol engines, suspension systems, hydraulic components, hydrostatic transmissions, and automatic and manual transmissions.
-Maintain knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic operating systems and components for diagnostic work.
-Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, including holding a current NSW White Card.

Essential Requirements:
-Trade Qualification as a Diesel or Plant Mechanic.
-HR Licence or willingness to obtain.
-Current NSW White Card.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience, or Skills:
-AIS Inspector’s Ticket (up to 5 tonnes).
-Experience in MIG and TIG
-Experience in Auto Electrical repairs.
-Ability to contribute to the commercial and competitive operation of the team.
-Proficiency in mobility and IT solutions related to fleet operations.
