About Us:
On behalf of our client based in Townsville, we are currently seeking for a Front of house Customer Service Officer-Galleries for a 6-week assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide front of house management including reception, gift shop, ticketing, telephone, information, and email communications to visitors.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and ongoing commitment to the principles and philosophy of customer service.
  • Provide retail services and day to day management.
  • Provide operational support including public program delivery, volunteer management, invitation and catalogue production and marketing.
  • Maintain a positive approach to achieving a high quality and innovative customer experience.
  • Make customers feel welcome and treat customers in a courteous and friendly way.
  • Develop responsive relationships with key stakeholders in stocking and selling in the gift shop.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Team to deliver strategic outcomes and team goals.
  • Other duties as required commensurate with this classification level and other duties that are reasonably directed.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Sound knowledge of the visual arts and the local arts industry and art’s facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer service environment including demonstrated experience in working with members of the public from diverse backgrounds, interests, ages and abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in retail.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of applications with an emphasis on Excel and Word, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of professional Gallery practices and standards and visual arts practice particularly as it relates to security of art objects.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate and build relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety policies and practices particularly as they relate to the Gallery environment
  • Current Queensland “C” class drivers’ licence.
  • Queensland working with children check.
  • Willingness to work at multiple venues as required.
  • MUST be availalble on Weekends
