We are currently recruiting for  Community Development Officer (Seniors and Disability Inclusion)  for our client, a Local Council based in Sydney. This is an contract until 27/06/2025 and is unlikely to extend at this stage. The pay rate is $55-$65ph + suoer for 35 hours per week and WFH is available for up to 2 days per week (Mondays and Fridays). Candidates looking for part time (minimum 3 days a week) or reduced hours (school hours etc) would also be considered and flexible start times can be accommodated
 
The  Community Development Officer (Seniors and Disability Inclusion)  will implement and evaluate range of community/social initiatives that achieve the goals of the Social and Disability Inclusion Action Plan. These initiatives will be delivered by using community development strategies and working collaboratively with key organisations and agencies

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement the Sector Support and Development Work Plan to increase Commonwealth Home Support Program providers capability and improve quality of service delivery to consumers through activities under a targeted range of primary focus areas.
  • Develop and facilitate partnerships to develop and deliver viable project plans for new activities, programs and events, as identified in the Community Strategic Plan, Social Plan and Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
  • Provide strategic advice and leadership to increase the capacity of service organisations and Council to implement policies and programs that support the disability sector in progressing the agenda of socially inclusive communities.
  • Work towards developing a broader policy context of social inclusion
  • Development of strategies to bring stakeholders within the disability sector and broader social services sector together to achieve a collective impact of inclusion.
 
Candidate Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences or a similar field or a minimum of 3 years, relevant work experience.
  • Current Class C Drivers licence.
  • Significant proven experience working with community groups and organisations.
  • Proven experience in managing projects and events leading to successful community outcomes.
