Our client is a large federal government agency focused on providing high quality mental health assessment and clinical counselling services. They take pride on meeting client needs through a combination of proven clinical practices and new and emerging evidence-based approaches. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will work with a professional team who are all dedicated to making a different in the lives of their clients.


About the role:

  • Working in a contact centre, you will be providing high quality first point of contact customer service to individuals and their families requiring counselling and/or case management support.
  • Triaging and coordinating intakes and referrals Scheduling appointments for one-on-one appointments or group counselling.
  • Escalating cases complex or high-risk cases where relevant.
  • Maintaining up to data and accurate records for all phone and email correspondence.
  • Liaising and forming partnerships with other departments and organisations and community health and welfare agencies.

About you:
  • Mandatory qualifications EITHER
  • Degree Qualified + Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) OR
  • Social Work Degree + Current membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) OR
  • Masters Counselling Qualification + PACFA Registration as a Clinical Counsellor OR
  • Masters Counselling Qualification + ACA at Level 3 or Level 4
  • You will have Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance ideally, or have it granted before commencing the role.
  • Experience in a similar clinical role
  • A passion for clinical psychology and social work to support mental health initiatives.

  • 12 month temporary casual assignment
  • Full time (9-day fortnight) on a 24/7 roster system – please note you will need to have flexibility to work evenings, overnights and weekends.
  • Melbourne CBD location + hybrid working from home 
  • $65 per hour + super + penalty rates for working evening, overnights, weekends and public holidays
