An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Weighbridge Operator to join a government team based in the beautiful Clarence Valley. This position is responsible for the operation of the site weighbridge, recording of all transaction details on specialized software and/or manual system, cash handling and reconciliation, controlling and regulating access to and from the Waste Facility.

Key Objectives

  • Operate weighbridge in accordance with established operational procedures and EPA guidelines
  • Collect all fees and charges as determined by the organisation and ensure that all banking is reconciled and completed
  • Maintain the weighbridge and general area of the weighbridge, including the office in a clean, tidy, and hazard-free condition
  • Always provide a high level of customer service
  • Control access to and from the waste facility
  • Ensure that waste entering the facility is in accordance with the site’s waste acceptance criteria to minimise contamination in waste streams
  • Perform general administrative duties as required by the Civic Services Coordinator and Waste Supervisor
  • Produce written and computerised reports as directed
  • Advise on and promote recycling and alternate processing of waste materials
  • Ensure weighbridge is calibrated annually

Essential Criteria  
  • Current drivers licence
  • Ability to assist customers in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Office administration experience, including ability to manage multiple tasks and to plan, organise and prioritise work
  • Cash handling experience, including reconciliation and reporting
  • Excellent computer skills, including keyboard accuracy
  • Good interpersonal, numeracy, written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Positive attitude, reliable, motivated, and punctual
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment and foster good relationships with team members, other staff, and external clients/stakeholders.
  • Ability to work weekends
