Payroll supervisor

Our client, a well-established local government authority, is seeking an experienced Supervisor Payroll Officer for a 12-month opportunity. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can hit the ground running, ensuring seamless payroll operations and compliance with relevant regulations

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Interpret and apply Industrial Agreements, policies, procedures, and legislation related to payroll, including taxation, workers’ compensation, and long service leave regulations
• Provide leadership and guidance to payroll staff, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding payroll matters
• Identify process improvements and implement solutions for greater efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and reporting obligations

• Proven experience in payroll supervision, with the ability to manage end-to-end payroll processes
• Strong understanding of Industrial Agreements, taxation laws, workers’ compensation, and long service leave regulations
• Experience in payroll systems administration and configuration
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and support the payroll team
